Adrian Caneris
President
Adrian is Managing Director of BAAM Pty Ltd and a principal wildlife expert. His areas of expertise are in vertebrate fauna assessment and identification, assessment of terrestrial habitats, ecological monitoring, wildlife management, biodeversity planning, feral species management and commuity liaison and facilitation.
Adrian is a regularly engaged ecological expert for the Planning and Environment Court and Land Court in Queensland.
He has been involved in research, management, consulting, tertiary teaching and community based studies of terrestrial ecology, particularly vertebrate fauna, throughout South East Queensland for more than 20 years.
Adrian has also provided expert assessments and advice to the Redland City Countil on all aspects and issues relating to wildlife management.
Since 2002, Adrian has undertaken specialist consultancy work for local and state governments and private organisations, primarily associated with fauna investigations, recommendations for fauna management and speciies recovery planning.
He has been appointed to a number of advisory committees, council’s and trust and is currently providing an expert peer review for the Sunshine Coast Regional Council Biodevrsity Stategy. Adrian was also one of three community representatives on the previous RedI and Shire Council’s Greenspace Advisory Committee, including the Ipswich City Council Environmental Advisory Committee (1993-96), the National Heritage Trust (1997-99), the QPWS Macropod Management Advisory Committee (1997- 2000), the Widlife Preservation Society (Pas President and Vice-President), the Koala Coast Conservation Council Redland Shire Council Representative (1999- 2002), South East QLD Conservation Strategy Committee (1999-2003), Recreational & Commercial Animal Management Committee (199-2002), Wildlife Land Trust Ltd QLD (2000-ongoing, Director) and the QLD Pest Animal and Plague Advisory Committee (2001-2003).
Gunther De Graeve
Vice President
Gunther De Graeve is one of Australia’s leading Health Architects, currently in a leadership position in Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Building division.
An Architectural Graduate from the Saint Lucas Advanced Institute for Architecture in Ghent, Belgium, Gunther has over 18 years experience in architecture.
Gunther began his career in Belgium and worked to become Director in a leading architectural practice. Gunther later migrated to Australia and worked for a number of high profile design practices in Brisbane for the years following. His focus later shifted from design to construction as his career evolved from Design Manager, Senior Project Manager and Director of Design and Development for International Design and Construct firm Taiyo.
These years in construction exposed Gunther to global design and construction methodologies as he completed projects in Australia, United States, Europe, Africa, South East Asia, and in the Middle East where he held the role of Regional Managing Director based in Dubai.
Gunther’s focus shifted back to design in 2007. He has since held senior management roles and been recognised as a thought-leader within the health design sector. He maintains a hands-on Project Principal role on major Public and Private Health projects.
Gunther’s extensive design and construction experience combine to offer a holistic approach and coordinated synergy to all of his projects. He has been recognised for his leadership and innovation in operational models in health, for his sustainable approach to masterplanning health campuses and for his attention to detail allowing for future flexibility.
Gunther has been invited to speak at the upcoming World Congress for Design & Health in Boston and the IQPC Health Week in Sydney. Prior speaking engagements include Hospital Build Asia 2010 Singapore; International Design and Health Symposium Australiasia Sydney 2010; IPFA, Trends and Pressures in Australasian Healthcare Projects Sydney 2009; Green Hospital Design Brisbane 2008. He is also a regular attendee of International and National Health Forums.
Gunther recently completed a study tour of exemplar European Health Facilities and attended the European Congress for Health Design in Rotterdam.

Garry Cooper
Committee Member
Garry is Queensland Manager for Cathay Industries, a multinational Chinese company manufacturing high-quality products in the areas of general chemicals, phosphonates and pigments.
Born in Marrickville, Sydney, Garry completed Higher School Certificate in 1981 and went on to complete a Certificate of Retail Management. He worked for Grace Bros Department Stores in various management roles before departing for the chemical company, Bayer where he served in a variety of roles for 17 years.
The coastal Brisbane suburb of Cleveland was Garry’s first port of call after leaving Sydney some 13 years ago where he fell in love with life in the Redlands. After a brief departure to the Logan shire he moved back to the Redlands and now lives in Southern Redland Bay.
Garry’s keen interest in the Redlands lead to his appointment in 2007 to the Redland Bay South Investigation Area Community Reference Group. On this committee he has demonstrated a commitment to finding a balance between business, development, the environment and the individual.
