Preservation and enhancement of the Redlands unique characteristic and lifestyle

  • Ensuring development of the natural and built environment is carried out to the highest standards and ethical practice;

Conserving the natural attributes of Redlands

  • Ensuring our natural assets, biodiversity and attributes are preserved and appropriately managed.
  • Promoting world's leading environmental stewardship;
  • Best practice resource extraction and rehabilitation;
  • Creation and ongoing management of worlds best practice conservation reserves and facilities.
  • Preservation of open space and conservation areas
  • Improving knowledge of local ecological values and processes.
  • Support for endangered species management
  • Conserving natural attributes is one focus for the organsiation.

Enhancing the economic opportunities for Redlands

  • Encouragement of a "new world" economic base of clean green knowledge based industry;
  • Ability for the public and private sectors to collaboratively deliver services and facilities;
  • Promoting efficient and timely delivery of soft and hard infrastructure;
  • Promoting better governance of the shire.
  • Support of local industry.
  • Encouraging traditional owners to develop economic and trade opportunities.

Creating Strong Communities

  • Reducing dependence of commuting by private motor vehicle;
  • Creating/enhancing the series of distinct, identifiable and self contained communities within Redlands;
  • Increasing the sustainable use and enjoyment of Moreton Bay;
  • Support for the arts and cultural organisations/initiatives within Redlands;
  • Providing opportunity and inclusiveness for all sections of the community especially youth, seniors and indigenous Australians;
  • Promoting meaningful housing choice and affordable housing options are available to all sectors of the community;
  • Increasing facilities for the Bay Islands.
  • Promoting a healthy lifestyle and active recreation facilities within Redlands.
